give a dog a bone

In east on 09/01/2011 at 7:30 pm

I walked into Urban Outfitters the other day only to be stopped by the face of the cutest dog in the world, Boo. I met Boo on the internet as his rise to fame skyrocketed. I even “liked” his facebook page. But for a while I forgot Boo existed till I saw his book. Yes folks, Boo is a self publish author/ internet superstar and I have no shame (other than the initial “oh my gosh” I let out) to say I will own this book someday.

He adored New York City. He idolized it all out of proportion…no, make that: he – he romanticized it all out of proportion. Yes. To him, no matter what the season was, this was still a town that existed in black and white and pulsated to the great tunes of George Gershwin. Woody Allen

disturbing the peace

Irene, ironically enough, translates to “peace” in Greek. Well this little lady sure isn’t keeping the peace on the east coast. My trip in Pittsburgh has been extended due to the threats Hurricane Irene has been imposing on New York City. Hope everyone in the city is being smart and proactively seeking safer grounds.

Ahh, Home

I’m leaving the city for the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania tomorrow. I will reunite with many things I left behind when I moved to New York: space, my bed, my bed, my bed, my Ma & Pa.

On Saturday I had the pleasure of having my very first NYC outdoor food market venture aptly enough in Williamsburg. Cleverly named Smorgasburg, this Brooklyn Flea Food Market had a diverse range of foods. I sunk my teeth into a Cemita’s taco de lengua and a tasty beef bolgogi bun from We Rub You, lounged on a grassy lawn with a friend, and ended my food venture with a refreshing blueberry peach pop from people’s pops .

Thinking of you.

Everyday someone’s loved one, somewhere in this large vast world, is lost. Let’s take  a minute to embrace our loved ones, embrace our life, and be grateful to be in the now.
