Nicaragua sounded dangerous; she liked the word. Nicaragua! It sounded like some kind of spider. There it goes, under the table – Nicaragua!

Tonight I went to the opening reception for Xavier Cha, Cory Arcangel, and Lyonel Feininger at the Whitney. All exhibitions offer an eclectic and diverse spectrum of art. Xavier’s piece is performative, physically and perceptually engaging a performer (an actor) and the viewer in space. Cory’s work is technology based and heavily influenced by pop cultural mediums- photoshop, LCD screens, gaming systems, et cetera. Feininger wraps it all together with a retrospective of his work from his early drawings as a comic illustrator to his late analytical cubist paintings.
Definitely worth seeing.

Nokia held a competition for filmmakers to create a short movie filmed on one of their new phones. This was the winning short. Quite a lovely two minutes.
