Lara Stone: CK Face

In west on 06/30/2010 at 3:52 pm

She’s the new face for Calvin Klein Collection, ck Calvin Klein and Calvin Klein Jeans.  This is the first time since Natalia Vodianova’s reign that the same face has graced all three campaigns.   Household name soon enough.

My very talented friend Jess Williamson has a lovely EP out with her folk duo Rattlesnake.

When he went back to the fire he knelt and smoothed her hair as she slept and he said if he were God he would have made the world just so and no different.

Have we been manipulated, or are we to blame?

i am going to rip myself down the middle into two pieces because there is something in me that is neither the right half nor the left half nor between them. it is what i see when i close my eyes, and what i see. as in this room there is something neither ceiling nor floor, not space, light, heat or even the deep skies of pictures, but something that beats softly against others when they’re here and others not here, that leans on me like a woman, curls up in my lap and walks with me to the kitchen or out of the house altogether to the street — I don’t feel it, but it beats and beats

there is an empty house six miles down the road filled with nothing and soggy walls and floor beams that ache and ache from not being walked on in so long and they would creak and creak if they could, if only someone would come up the front steps and give them a good battering or stomping or stamping or maybe just a soft dance whether there was music or not and oh how the walls wanted music.  the house was an empty place filled with nothing not evens of all sorts, nothing not evens like wine and shoes and gushy, smiling children who peed on the floor at night because the bogeyman was outside, and nothing, not even air, and if there had been things inside they would have floated like birds, but there was nothing inside and even if there had been it wouldn’t have mattered because there wasn’t even light to see it with, and oh how the walls wanted light, because they were painted such a beautiful color
