We met on the platform for a Manhattan bound train. He told me about his dreams and aspirations of being a fashion designer and his hopes of getting into a prestigious school. We chatted about the city and its wealth of creatives. Then we talked about Paris. Paris. His name was Pierre.

To be happy

In east on 04/10/2012 at 10:05 am

Give up the past. I know, I know. It’s hard. Especially when the past looks so much better than the present and the future looks so frightening, but you have to take into consideration the fact that the present moment is all you have and all you will ever have. The past you are now longing for – the past that you are now dreaming about – was ignored by you when it was present. Stop deluding yourself. Be present in everything you do and enjoy life. After all life is a journey not a destination. Have a clear vision for the future, prepare yourself, but always be present in the now.

How did you get this number?

There is one thing you know for sure, one fact that never fails to comfort you: the worst day of your life wasn’t in there, in that mess. And it will do you good to remember the best day of your life wasn’t in there, either. But another person brought you closer to those borders than you had been, and maybe that’s not such a bad thing.

I have a great deal of company in the house, especially in the morning when nobody calls.

May I highly suggest you spend some time here.

I’ve been dying to stop by the new Luhring Augustine location in Bushwick. Finally made it. Although they weren’t open for public hours they buzzed me in and let me spend a very magical and matrixy 30 minutes in the wonderfully beautiful Charles Atlas exhibition. GO. This weekend will be perfect for it.

Spent a portion of my morning at MoMA today. The company I work for, Handmade Frames, mounted and framed most of the pieces in the Cindy Sherman retrospective. It was incredible watching all my colleagues, that worked so hard to make a huge portion of that exhibition happen, see their work inside thee modern art museum.

Also, it’s gorgeous outside again. Sun, shorts and whiskey lemonades.
