LIKE A HINGE LIKE A WING
In west on 10/05/2010 at 7:46 pmI wanted the past to go away, I wanted to leave it, like another country; I wanted my life to close, and open like a hinge, like a wing, like the part of the song where it falls down over the rocks: an explosion, a discovery; I wanted to hurry into the work of my life; I wanted to know, whoever I was, I was alive for a little while. —Mary Oliver.

In east on 10/05/2010 at 8:13 amThe democratization of technology allows ideas and information to disseminate rapidly and reveal themselves in this endless, accumulative, unfolding, looping process. There is a feeling of being devoured by this infinite swirl of information’s black hole. We are bombarded daily by an unprecedented amount of information, but our capability to share has improved exponentially not only with respect to accessing knowledge but also as regards our perception, communication and expressive capabilities. This has given way to a new kind of human species, capable of absorbing and digesting loads of information at high speeds and existing in different dimensions and bodies, commuting easily between them. A new cross breed between a human and a virus is born. Obsession, curiosity, generosity and anxiety are center elements in our projects. Space and time are multi-layered and multi-faceted – and people’s perception/experience of the world is finally heading the same way. Our minds and dreams are ahead of laws, politics, social codes, ethics and even technology. We live in a world of unaccomplished dreams. Nevertheless, we are also having a more vivid taste of these dreams today, because of knowledge spread. Unfortunately there are a few generations that came before us that keep holding these views back. But they will eventually fade away. Does anybody doubt that music will be free in the near future? Freedom to share/spread/absorb/assume/contaminate/inseminate/devour.

In east on 10/04/2010 at 11:39 amToday a huge decision was made. I am proceeding towards my 20 hour which means I can shortly commence writing my thesis! I am spewing joy out of my loins. Also, I was handed the loveliest gift which is by far the culmination of it all: a four leaf clover. It rests on the plane of my studio door greeting everybody that crosses its path with luck.
