What’s the most resilient parasite? An Idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules.  Which is why I have to steal it.

Bill Murray, on if he’s an LA-guy:

No, no, no. Never. It just never took. It’s like the first day you check into a hotel in L.A. there’s a message under your door. The second day, there’s eleven messages under your door. The third day, there’s thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy messages. And I realized that they just want fresh blood. They. Just. Want. Fresh. Blood. You gotta get the hell out of there. And you really feel, if you live in New York, that you’re three hours ahead of them—I mean that literally. It’s like, Oh man, we gotta help these people! And the longer you stay there, the less ahead of them you get, and then you’re one of them. No way, man. Not for me.

Awesome interview in GQ here!

ABOVE & BELOW: Joanna Kopczyk

The darker disk on the left is a acetate transfer to a lithographic stone of a black and white printout of a mass grave of the victims of the earthquake in Haiti that took place in January this year. The disk on the right is an abstracted ideal of the surface of Jupiter (a gas giant), as I tend to imagine it, which was drawn directly onto the stone. Somewhere in the back of my head were all those images of individuals, particularly Anna Wintour and the Olsen twins, wearing large circular sunglasses in dark rooms in the middle of winter. I always wonder what goes through the head of such a person (what are they seeing exactly)?

2 things are awesome about this:
